The Next Few Days in London

Days 3 and 4 in London were jammed pack with sight seeing.

Catching the tube in the morning rush hour seemed like a good idea at the time. No beg-your pardons. Just jam onto the train and go. There was an "oh wow" moment when we popped out of the tube station at Westminster to be confronted with that 'big clock' and parliament house. Staggeringly huge and impressive.

Westminster Abbey was simply awesome. Tempted to say "OMG" if you pardon the irony. So much history in one place and such an impressive structure. Then into Churchills War Rooms which were another type of history. That night we met up with Ashley for a pint or two and some buffalo wings.

Yesterday was a full day of walking. Kensington Palace, Prince Albert Hall, Prince Albert Memorial, Wellingtons Arch and Apsley House (sadly closed). Then in the evening we bused into Oxford St and the west end district, before heading back into Westminster for The Eye at night and some night shots of Parliament.

This morning we left London and trained to Reading to pick up the hire car.
