Cornwall to Corby

Having left Cornwall a few days back we seem to have jammed a fair amount into the days.

Clovelly - another picture postcard old fishing village built literally on the side of the hill with cobblestones throughout.

Glastenberry - renowned for its ancient Abbey where King Arthur was once buried. Quirky town full of medieval shops and pubs.

Bath - beautiful city with plenty of old buildings - most impressed with the Roman Baths build sometime early AD. Serious history to be found in the UK.

It was in Bath we got "temporarily misplaced" (Lost is word not in my vocabulary!) Relying on GPS to get us to the hotel, things got confusing due to road works. Ended up having to pay some old blokes 70p toll to cross their bridge and then down some very narrow lanes. All ended well with great accommodation and a meal and drinks at the local pub with a chat with the locals.

Next night was in Warwick with a quick stop at Stratford Upon Avon and a looksee at Anne Hathaways cottage (Shakespeare's missus). Warwick Castle was disappointing - way over priced and extremely commercialised.

Today was a relatively quick drive to Corby where Judith lived for 4 years as a teenager. Found her old home and also that of a friend's parents that she stayed with before coming to Australia. This friend (Jennifer) is the same one we're visiting in Jersey in May. Cutting a long story short - Jennifer was there visiting her parents - great surprise for all concerned, and we now look forward to re meeting them in a few weeks.

All is going well - having  a ball and still talking to each other!

Love Paul and Judith
