Well we are now in London and we have hit the ground running. On our first day we went for a walk around Kensington Gardens after sitting on a plane for 20 or so hours. We tried to stay up as long as we could but made it to about 6pm. Slept most of the night and got up the next day to our cooked breakfat buffet. I think by the end of our holiday we will be sick of English cooked breakfast.
Yesterday we had a full day of sightseeing. London Bridge, Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. Saw the crown jewels which were magnificent. Went on a ride down the Thames and came across a little thing called Big Ben and The Houses Of Parliament. WOW!
The weather was cold and wet yesterday but didn't really stop us doing anything.
Traveller's tip #1
If anyones thinking of doing the London Bridge Experience....... Don't! Luckily it was free with our London Pass.
Today we have got up early and caught the underground into Westminster again to do the Abbey and Churchill's war rooms. Catching the underground in peak hour is something which I will never forget. It was jam packed. Never seen so many people packed on a train. And more just pile in!
And Petrol is the same price as home. (although it is in pounds so it's double!)
Looks like your having fun! Should I start a blog about my 7 weeks of being home alone?
